5. Aims of this lesson : In this lesson, students will:

(1) become familiar with words and phrases of body condition.

(2) improve listening ability through listening dialog.

(3) come to gain more enjoyment from communication activities.

6.Views of this class : The general atmosphere of the class is lively and they likes activities. Otherwise, there are a few students who need to improve their basic vocabulary and grammatical knowledge. However, they try to make efforts to participate in the classes. I personally think it quite important that students learn through activities which students can speak in English. In that case, students can learn English with excitement.

7. Views of this lesson : In Lesson 5, students will learn some expressions about physical condition. After students are familiar with them, listen to the teachers’ demonstration and answer some questions. Students will also learn how to use there expressions and use through the pair work and game.

教育自習を終えて…

教育実習を振り返ってみると、二週間がとても短く感じられました。それと同時に、充実した二週間でもありました。初めて担当する教室に入っての自己紹介、授業や講話の準備、授業やその他の活動、生徒たちや先生達とのコミュニケーションなどの経験を通して、多くのことを学ぶことができました。特に教師の仕事は忙しいということを身をもって実感しました。忙しいながらも精一杯努力して生徒と接してきたつもりですが、反省すべき点もたくさんあります。
まず授業では、主にオーラルコミュニケーションを担当したのですが、ALTとの話し合いの機会をうまく活用することができず、何度もALTの元に通い、時間を割いていただきました。また、オーラルコミュニケーションの授業計画をどのように作成するのかわからず、ALTの作成した指導案に沿って授業を進めていました。しかし、担当教諭のアドバイスのおかげで、ALTのアシスタントになるのではなく、自分が授業の主導権を握ることの大切さを学びました。そのためにまず、自分なりの指導案を作成してALTに提案し、積極的に疑問点や改善点を話し合いました。自分で指導案を作成することで、クイズやペアワーク、ゲームなどのアクティビティを多く組み込み、生徒が楽しく英語を使える授業を作り上げることができたと実感しています。授業中も様々な工夫をして勉強しやすい環境を作りましたが、学力の低い生徒への配慮や時間配分などの課題が残りました。
まだまだ反省する点はありますが、生徒たちや先生たちとのコミュニケーションや授業を通して、生徒の成長を手助けするという責任の大きさややりがいを感じることができる、貴重な体験でした。

I felt the period of practice teaching passed quickly. However, it was also a precious time. I could learn a lot of things through my experiences of self-introduction, preparations of classes and SHL, classes and other activities and communication with the students and the teachers. Especially, I realized the busyness of teaching works. I made a full effort to them but I had many reflections in many ways, for example…

As for the class, I mainly taught Oral Communication A. At first, I could not discuss the contents with the ALT effectively because I did not know how to make teaching plans with the ALT. So, I often went to ALT and discuss classes. In addition to this, I taught OCA classesalong with the teaching plan which the ALT made. After that the teacher in charge of me advised me that I should take an initiative in class. Then I understood the importance of taking initiative. For that purpose, I made the teaching plan and discussed it without hesitation. As a result, I was able tobuild in more activities, and students could enjoy those using English. During the classes, I also tried to make an atmosphere which students could concentrate in studying, however, there were many issues left.

There are many reflections left, however, I could felt the great responsibilities in helping students’ growing and it was worthwhile challenging.
