Text:EssentialCalculus-EarlyTranscendentalFunctionsbyLarson,Hostetler,andEdwards.

CourseObjectives:ThiscourseisacontinuationofstudyofCalculusI(Math201)andisinmainlyfocusedon Integral Calculus. This course begins with the discussion of antiderivatives, Riemann sumandDefiniteintegrals,andthefundamentaltheoremofcalculus.Thisisfollowedbythestudy of theapplicationsofintegration.Thiscourseconcludesbystudyingtheintegrationstechnique,L’Hopital’sruleand improper integrals.

Wewillcoverchapter4throughchapter6fromthebook.

Prerequisites:Math201

Attendance:Classattendanceinvolvingactiveparticipationisaveryimportantelementinyoursuccessinlearningmathematics.Youareexpectedtoactivelyparticipateineachclasssession.Youareresponsibleforallmaterialsdiscussedinclassevenifyoumisstheclass.Attendancewillbetakenineachclass;youmustbepresentfortheentireclasssessioninordertobecountedaspresent.Eachundocumentedabsencebeyondthefirstthreeresultsinaone-stepreductioninyourfinallettergradeforthecourse.NOcellphonesorotherelectronicdevicesaretobeusedduringclass.

Examinations:Therewillbetwoin-classwrittenexamsandacomprehensivefinalexam.Eachmidtermexammakesup20%ofyourfinalgrade.Acomprehensivefinalexammakesup20%ofyourfinalgrade.Thedatesofexamswillbeannouncedinclass.Ifyoumustmissascheduledexam,youmustcontactmebeforetheexam.Amake-upexamwillbegivenonlyifmissingtheexamwasunavoidableduetoseriousillnessorinjuryorsimilarcircumstances.
