Abstract: These instructions give authors guidelines to preparing papers for the International Conference on International Conference on Sustainable Built Environment ICSBE 2016. Use this document as a template if you are using Microsoft Word 97 or later version. Otherwise, use this document as a guideline. Define all symbols used in the abstract. Do not cite references in the abstract. Please keep one line space in between heading and text.

Keywords: About five key words or phrases in alphabetical order, separated by semicolon.

1. Introduction

This document provides instructions to authors for preparing full papers for ICSBE 2016 and acts as the basic template for modifying the text and expanding to form papers in the required format.

2. Information

Papers must be original research / technical papers based on research by the author(s) or original articles of Professional or Technical interest related to the themes of the conference.

Papers should be ethically presented and should not contain any derogatory remark/s on any person or organization.

Less than 300 words abstract should be provided as indicated.

The language to be used is English. It is preferable that International System of Units (SI) be used. If other units are used, relevant SI unit should be given within brackets or in a supplementary dual unit table.

Name(s) and Affiliations of Author(s) should also be provided as indicated. The communication details (e-mail address, telephone number) of the corresponding author should be provided.

Papers will be forwarded to two appropriate referees for evaluation and comments. Corresponding Author will be provided with comments of referees on the paper. Attended amendments/corrections will be re-directed to the referees for concurrence. After amendments are completed in consultation with the Editorial staff to the satisfaction of the referees, the author should submit the camera ready paper. The same format should be used for the camera ready papers.

On matters regarding publications, decision of the Editor / the Editorial Board is the final.

3. Format

3.1 Proceedings, Paper size

The conference proceedings will be published in standard book (170mm x245 mm) size with two-column layout for text. Diagrams and tables should be in portrait orientation with either one or two column width.

Size of the paper composed in the required format is limited to eight (8) pages.

3.2 Font, Margins

The Font for general text should be ‘Times New Roman’ with 11-point size. Main headings shall be with the same font of 11-point size, bolded while sub headings shall be 11-point size, bolded. Main and sub headings should be numbered in the manner adopted in this paper.

Margins shall be 20 mm all around except at the top of the first page and no binding gutter. Width of a text column shall be 80 mm with a space of 5 mm in between.

3.3 Order of presentation

The author is free to name headings according to the context and content of the paper. However, it is preferable to have main headings in the order; Introduction, Hypothesis, Verification, ….., Conclusions, Acknowledgement and References.

All references should be cited in the main text. Acknowledgements and References should not be given a paragraph number.

The format should be the format described in this document and given in this template. Authors are advised not to use headers, footers or foot notes.

4. Presentation

Tables, figures and equations should be provided as appropriate and as indicated in this document.

4.1 Tables

Tables should be either one or two column width in portrait orientation. Each table should be sequentially numbered and titled above its top, e.g.: Table 1: Steel bridges used in the study. All the tables should be cited in the main text.

4.2 Figures

Figures should be either one or two column width in portrait orientation. Photographs should be included as Figures and should be preferably scanned (at 100 dpi) in jpeg format. Each figure should be sequentially numbered and titled below; e.g.: Figure 1: Specimen geometry and dimensions. All the figures should be cited in the main text.

4.3 Equations

Equations should be separated from the text and identified by consecutive numbers placed at the far right side of the line within brackets.

4.4 Citations

References should be cited within square brackets in the main text. (e.g.: [1], Wu et al. [2]). Authors should adhere to the formats given in the reference list (Times New Roman - 10 pt.). Reference should be listed and numbered as per the order in the main text.

5. Conclusions

ICSBE 2016 Editorial board expects that the guidelines presented in this document assist the authors to present their papers in a logical and coherent manner so as to comply with internationally accepted standards.
