Terms and Conditions[EN1]

  1. This offer is only open to eligible applicants (“Eligible Applicants” or in the singular, an “Eligible Applicant”). An Eligible Applicant is someone who is aged 18 or over, is a resident in Hong Kong, is a new applicant (i.e. an applicant who does not hold, or has not cancelled any principal card or supplementary card of any card type issued by Dah Sing Bank, Limited (“Bank”) in the past 12 months) and is currently enrolled (or will be auto-enrolled) in the British Airways Executive Club, who successfully applies for Dah Sing British Airways Platinum Card (‘Card’).
  1. Eligible Applicants who apply for and are accepted for a Card issued by the Bank between 00:00 HKT on 10 July 2014 and 23:59 HKT on 10 September 2014 (“Promotion Period”) are eligible for a 6,000 Avios welcome bonus (“Welcome Bonus”). Each Eligible Applicant can only apply for one Card and is entitled to the Welcome Bonus once only.
  1. To collect the Welcome Bonus, the Eligible Applicant who has been issued with the Card (“Cardholder”) needs to make at least one Qualifying Transaction, using the Card, on or before 10 December 2014. The Welcome Bonus will be awarded to a Cardholder's Executive Club account within three months from the end of the Promotion Period. The Cardholder's Executive Club account must be valid and in good standing at the time of issuing the Welcome Bonus.
  1. Qualifying Transactions are retail purchases only and excludes the following transactions: cash advance, balance transfer, bank handling fee (annual fees, financial charges, late fees and cash advance handling fee, etc), bank bill payment / Payeasy transaction, Jet Payment, Octopus AAVS amount, Cash-in Plan installment, "Happy Installment", interest-free installment transaction, tax payment, casino transaction, unposted / cancelled / refunded and all unauthorized transactions.[EN2]The Bank reserves the right to determine the eligibility of a transaction for the Welcome Bonus.
  1. Cardholders will also earn 1 Avios for every HK $6 spent locally in Hong Kong, 1.5 Avios for every HK $6 spent on Overseas Transactions (see definition below) or 2 Avios for every HK $6 spent at ba.com or British Airways Contact Centre for purchasing flight tickets that have a British Airways prefix flight number, but not applicable to bookings made on British Airways franchise, codeshare or alliance airlines, provided all such purchases amount to a Qualifying Transaction.
  1. Overseas Transactions include transactions in Hong Kong currencies or foreign currencies made outside of Hong Kong, transactions in foreign currencies made in Hong Kong, and transactions at any merchant not registered in Hong Kong.

  1. If the Cardholder is not an Executive Club Member at the time of their Card application, the Bank will automatically enrol the applicant into the Executive Club as part of the application. The Cardholder agrees that the Bank can share their personal data with British Airways. Cardholder will receive statements and information from British Airways relating to the Executive Club Program.
  1. All awarded Avios will be credited to the Executive Club membership number, as provided by the Cardholder at the time of the Card application, within 6 weeks after the issuance of credit card statement (with the exception of the Welcome Bonus which shall be issued in accordance with paragraph 3 above). If the awarded Avios fails to be credited due to an incorrect Executive Club membership number provided by the Cardholder, the Bank will not be held liable and will not re-issue the awarded Avios.
  1. If the Cardholder changes their Executive Club membership number after the Card has been used, the Cardholder must inform the Bank within one month of the change in order to get the Avios transferred to the new account. British Airways Plc and the Bank will not be held liable and will not re-issue the relevant Avios if the Cardholder does not provide updated information in such case.
  1. The Cardholder will be entitled to receive an extra 250 bonus Avios should they choose to rent a car with Avis and pay for the rental with their Card. For full terms and conditions, please visit ba.com/avis.
  1. If the Cardholder cancels his/her Cards within 13 months from the date of Card issuance, the Bank reserves the right to debit a handling fee of HK$300 from the relevant Card account without prior notice.[EN4]
  1. These Terms and Conditions are governed by Hong Kong law. The Bank and British Airways Plc reserve the final rights to amend these terms and conditions and / or amend or terminate this offer at any time without prior notice.
  1. All matters and disputes will be subject to the final decision of the Bank and British Airways Plc.
