Instructions: In a comic strip, you will describe the entire journey of a food item (your choice) from the time it enters the mouth to its removal from the body through excretion. I encourage you to be creative, but make sure you follow the assignment guidelines carefully. BEFORE you start, you need to make sure you know what all of the terms below mean, and how they process and digest the food that you consume.

  • You should include all of the processes within your body that would help digest the food
  • The comic can be either in color
  • You can use pages D82- D95 in your textbook, and any other resources that you have to help you
  • The comic must have the following elements:

□ Comic must have a title

□ Comic book needs to be a minimum of 15rectangles (each box will be worth 3 points)

□ Your comic strip needs to include drawings (color) as well as text (written in blue or black ink)

□ The journey must go through the following organs: mouth, chemical digestion, mechanical digestion, salivary glands, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, villi, pancreas, liver, gall bladder, large intestine, rectum, and anus
