Student Instructions for UM-CIS e-Registration

IMPORTANT NOTES: e-Registrations must be submitted within ten days of the first day of class. Students wishing to register after that time must do so by filing a petition signed by their CIS instructor.

*If you are taking more than one CIS class during the same term—and have received Course Information from your other CIS teachers—you may e-register for all of your CIS classes at once.

Registration Instructions:

1.  Go to CIS Student Resources/Forms page http://www.cce.umn.edu/cisereg/ and click on link to UM-CIS e-Registration Form.

2.  Complete the online form by filling in each of the fields. You can use the online form to register for up to four UM-CIS courses at a time.

NOTE: Required items on this form are marked with * and will be used for identification and to establish or reference your University of Minnesota student record. The remaining items (social security number, gender, and ethnicity) are voluntary and will be used for positive identification, reporting and institutional research. Please note that information provided on this form is not encrypted when sent over the internet.

3.  Click on Confirm Registration Information to verify the data entered. To make corrections, click the Back button on your browser and enter correct information.

4.  When your information is complete and accurate, click on the Submit Registration button.

5. If another student will use the same computer to register after you, select click here to return to the CIS Registration Form; begin with Step 2 (above).

If you are the last student to register on this computer at this time, click on the Close

Window button to close the registration form.

6.  You will receive an e-mail confirmation that your registration request has been submitted to the University of Minnesota. Confirmation message will be delivered to the e-mail address specified on your registration form with “University of Minnesota-Twin Cities – CIS Registration” in the subject line. You will receive an official paper confirmation (UM Study List) along with student information by US Mail.
