Instructions for Flower Arrangers
Thank you for agreeing to provide an arrangement for Blooming Artists, Sunday, April 10. We especially appreciate the people arranging for public display for the first time. The one guideline is that your arrangement should be in appropriate scale for the location and relate to the art, and you should be able to articulate in one sentence how the art work inspired your arrangement. Janet Ganson is the coordinator for this, so call her with any questions and if you need help: home: 781-259-1124, cell 508-479-2634.
With this sheet is your assignment with photos that show the art close up, and the setting for the photo. The photo may not be completely true to color. If you need to see the art, make arrangements with Sue Ludden 617-633-6840. On April 10 the art will be hung on the wall at eye level (not on the floor where it was photographed).
There are no guidelines about containers or materials in your arrangements, except that it include some floral material. The arrangements will not be judged, and it is not a contest to see who has the most flowers, or the most expensive flowers. The public will appreciate your creativity. You will not be reimbursed for expenses, so be resourceful with what you have at home or in your back yard.
Need Pedestal: Many of the sites for arrangements do not have a Pierce House table or Bookcase to place an arrangement. These are labeled:Need Pedestal. Commonly used solutions are: small tables, bar stools, stacks of milk crates. It is your responsibility to provide the stand for your arrangement, and it should complement your arrangement. If you need help with this, Janet has access to a few pedestals, stools, small tables, and 70” round table cloths.
