Instructions for AX workers at the sales booth:

(1) At the booth, you will need to be like a carnival barker calling people you know over to you, then invite them to be a spy and play the Mastermind assassin game. Don't be shy! Make the game sound fun, exciting, and filled with espionage-intrigue. Jazz it up! Put up displays!

(2) It costs $5.00 to buy a packet and play the game, but the last player standing will win fantastic prizes from local merchants in our area. All the funds go toward helping AX students go to the National Convention to earn scholarships. We don’t have our full list of prizes yet for this year, but last year it included free movie tickets, free food from Bo Jangles and Domino’s, coupons for free coffees from various establishments, and various other goodies worth over $200.00.

(3) Feel free to open a "demo" packet from the pile and explain the rules and the contents of the packet (you can read the rules in the demo packet yourself so you are familiar with the product).

(4) If you sell a packet, it is VERY,VERY IMPORTANT that you have that person sign in on the sheet and record the number of his or her packet and his or her e-mail address. That number is the code we will use to verify "kills" in the assassin game. That code number is both on a slip of paper inside the packet and also written in the upper right corner of the outside of the packet for easier reference. They also need to sign the waiver saying they won’t sue us in the case of an accident.

(5) If folks don't have money immediately handy, be sure and tell them that they can still sign up during lunch between Oct. 10-14th..

(6) If you get a chance, before your session, you can talk to Mr. Donnie Newman. He's our media/sound guy on campus. He will show you how to turn on the sound system and use the microphone. Around 12:20 or 12:30, you will want to use that microphone to advertise the game. Explain what the game is to all the diners, that it's a fundraiser for AX, and that there will be a ton of prizes.

(7) For making change, I've got a money bag with extra $5.00 bills so you can get people change if they give you a $10 or a $20 bill. Volunteers, I don't want to leave that money bag over there unattended before you show up, so I'm going to leave it in the English Department in my mailbox (Henderson Hall English Suite). The Department boxes are white shelves in the far-right-hand side of the suite when you first enter that area. (The bag is red and has "Alpha Chi" written on it.) One of the two of you can run over to the English Department and grab it to take back over there before you start sales. You can ask the secretary where my mailbox is located if you get confused. When you are done with your hour of sales, if you can’t find Dr. Wheeler or Dr. Borchert, you can return the moneybag to the English Department Secretary, Ms. Linda Rosser.

I'm going to try and set up the main booth in the cafeteria around 11:45., so most of the stuff will be in place when volunteers arrive, except for the change bag. If you have any problems, contact Allison Scripa in the library, Mark Borchert in the communications department, or Kip Wheeler in the English Department.
