Goal

Introduce fundamental concept in materials science. Students will learn material structure, imperfection in solids, mechanical properties, abrasion and wear, relationship between microstructure change and phase diagram and properties and applications of different materials.

Objectives

By the end of the course, successful students should be able to:

1)Understand fundamental concept in materials science, including structure-properties relationship, imperfection in solids, mechanical properties, abrasion and wear, relationship between microstructure change and phase diagram and properties and applications of different materials.

2)Solve problems related to materials in daily life.

Class Schedule: Monday: 10.30 a.m. – 12.00 p.m. and

Wednesday:11.30 a.m. – 13.00 p.m.
