1. Minutes of Meeting held on23 July 2015
These were agreed as an accurate record.
2. Matters Arising
None
3. Approval for Centres for Purpose of Training
Interim agreement has been given to South West Highways Training to operate as a training centre within the remit of the scheme. Peter Dipper is still liaising with SWT to undertake a review of a course being delivered prior to the full approval being given.
(Subsequent meeting held( 26 January 2015) between Peter, Richard and Chris Cranston from Devon CC to agree to confirm interim agreement and for Peter to liaise with John Matthews of South West Highways to review material)
4. External Verification of approved Centres
it was agreed to undertake new EV arrangements from April 2015 and for Peter and Richard to contact approved centres to arrange EV visits.
5.Review of Well Maintained Highways
It was reported that a review of the best practice document Well Maintained Highways was to be undertaken by Atkins on behalf of the UK Roads Board. Richard has been identified as a “corresponding” member of the Steering Group.

6. Register of Highway Inspectors
The current register of Highway Inspectors was reviewed and it was noted that there were no Inspectors registered form Northern Ireland or Scotland with a very limited number form Wales. It was agreed contact each Approved Centre to ensure all successful applicants are contacted to be included on the Register.
7.Local Highway Authority Engagement of Scheme
To assist with the work required by to ensure that the scheme is more generally accepted by highway authorities it was agreed to increase publicity in the trade press and online publications. Richard will provide a copy of previous article to Stuart for comment and review. George to contact Scottish authorities to determine current arrangements for training of inspectors
8. Date and Time of next meeting
It was agreed to meet at Meeting Room 1 Northgate House, Upper Borough Walls, Bath BA1 1RGon Wednesday March 18th from 11am to 2pm
