  • It’s recommended to take a business card of the contact person.

The authorized engineer (Matan’s or Distributor’s) will carry out the following installation tasks for the TeckJet printer. He will also indicate in the appropriate box as soon as the procedure has been carried out.

The location site of the printer should be prepared in advance according to the TeckJet Site Requirements. (See Matan’s website for any questions or contact Matan directly at )

The printer together with all its accessories and component parts is shipped in a wooden crate attached to a palette.

It should be unpacked carefully and according to the following procedures.

Unpacking and Positioning:

Carefully inspect the crate for any evidence of external damage. If you find any damage, you should immediately inform “Matan” and wait for our written approval before proceeding further with the installation. If applicable, the client should inform their forwarder’s insurance agency.

Check the two SHOCKWATCH® labels for evidence of damage. One is located outside the crate and one inside (you should open the top cover of the box in order to see the second indicator). If the indicator in the white panel of the label is RED, there is evidence that the shipping crate was subject to external impact. You should immediately inform Matan and wait for our written approval before proceeding further with the installation. If applicable, the client should inform their forwarder’s insurance agency.

/ Do not proceed with the installation if the box was damaged during transportation. Without Matan’s written approval, Matan will not cover any cost or warrant any damages.

Open the other 4 sides of the box.

Remove everything but the printer:

  • Computer Box.
  • Accessories Box.
  • Ink tubes Box.
  • Vacuum cleaner Box.
  • Monitor Box.
  • Media.
  • Heads Box.

Remove the protective covering around the printer (fig-1).

Release the screws from the 2 metal bars underneath the printer (fig-2) on both sides and remove the Printer from the box using a forklift (fig-3).

/ Keep the box, the metal rack, all the nuts, bolts, washers and spring washers - for future transportation or moving the printer!

Inspect the room to be as in Matan’s” site – preparation specs: Electricity, Network, Ventilation & Dust free environment.

With the help of other people, roll the printer to its final location, preferably one on each side of the printer,.

Perform a visual inspection of the Printer's mechanical and cosmetic appearance.

Check humidity in the room according to the specs.

Go over the checklist, located on one of the boxes, and make sure you got all the printer’s parts according to the list, such as: Monitor, P.C, spare card, etc.).

Leveling & Connections:

Level the printer as follows:

1.Adjust any or all of the four LEVELING CASTOR'S FEET, located underneath the printer. Using an open spanner, lower the LEVELING CASTOR'S FEET by turning the orange nuts counterclockwise, so that all four foots with touch the floor and will raise the wheels form it (as illustrated below).

2.Level the printer using a water level on the main beam. Then, check the 2 water levels at the back of the printer (above the media roll, on each side) at the back of the printer.

Heads Assembling:

1.Take out the heads box cover from the printer.

2.Open the heads box and take out the heads. Be careful not to touch the face of the head.

3.Take out the head holders from the printer and assemble the heads, 2 on each holder.

4.Relocate the head holders with the heads back into the printer.

5.When closing the heads holder’s screws, make sure to align the holder to the left side in order to make sure that all the heads will be parallel to each other.

6.Place the “fine tune” screws into the head holders.

7.Connect the data cables & the small PCB adaptors to the heads. The order from left to right should be: K, C, M, Y, LC, and LM. Make sure that every pair of heads is connected in a crossway.

8.Connect the pipes that go from the secondary tanks to the heads according to its order.

9.Connect the power cable behind the head card to the connector of the head card.

P.C.:

  1. Unpack the P.C, monitor, K/B and Mouse and connect them to the printer.
  2. Open the P.C. top cover and connect the SCSI cable that goes from the back of the printer to the RIP card inside the P.C.
  3. Connect the 2 software dangles to the back of the P.C.
  4. Connect the Network cable to the connector located underneath the Monitor.

Connect the X Motor cable, located on the cabinet underneath the monitor.

Vacuum Cleaner:

  1. Take out the Vacuum Cleaner out of its box.
  2. Connect the Vacuum Cleaner and its host to the Printer.
  3. Connect its power to the power plug on the top left side.

Connect the Printer power cable to the power source.

Operating & Software

Turn on Routine:

  1. Turn on the power switches in the power cabin FROM LEFT TO RIGHT.
  2. Turn on the P.C.
  3. Enter the TeckJet Software.
  4. Turn on the 4 switches located on the Printer (Tension, 35v, Ventilation & Vacuum).

/ When dealing with the heads (replacing etc.’) make sure to turn off the 35v Switch and to take out the power cable from the head card.

Adjust the Carriage height to the front Bar (3mm’).

In the software, reset the head carriage and make sure that it doesn’t touch the cables located at the right side under the secondary tanks.

Ink tubes:

  1. Take the Ink tanks from the box and drill two holes in each cork (one for the pip, and one for the air). Reconnect the Corks.
  2. Cut the edge of the pipes located at the back of the printer (The ones that goes to the pumps).
  3. Insert the pipes to the Ink tanks according to the right order: LM, LC, Y, M, C, and K.
  4. Use the syringe (from the accessories box) to blow air to each of the secondary tank pipes. Repeat this step with each color until the Ink will spray equally all over the head.

/ Matan’s Ink has its own Slovent , Make sure not to mix different kinds of Solvent with our Ink.

Load the media onto the media bar.

Adjust the Temp in the temperature controller according to the kind of media (Banner: 26c, Vinyl: 30-33c).

Adjust the tension controller (located inside the power cabinet) according to the kind of media you use (Banner: 50, Vinyl: 40 - 50).

In the TeckJet Software – Adjust the Zero Position according to Vacuum Cleaner plate at the right side of the printer.

Calibrate the heads using the calibration files (in the software, Para -> Adjust->Print state, Step Difference offset etc.)

/ When calibrating the heads make sure to use the First/Second group options when needed.
/ You are now ready to train the customer’s operator.
