DVD Duplicating Instructions
□ Turn on DVD duplicating machine tower. Switch is on the bottom right side. Open 8 drawers by pressing the button for each drawer. Currently one drawer is tapped because it is not duplicating correctly.
□ Insert the Master DVD in the top drawer of the duplicating machine.
□ Read the instructions on the Original (brown) envelope which contains the Master DVD.
▪ How many DVDs need to be duplicated, which DVDs to use? If you have the Master DVD of a new show, you will be duplicating 9 for each of the Community TV stations.
□ Place 8 blank DVDs in the drawers and use the button to close the drawers. Green LED lights will come on for each drawer being used. After about 5 minutes all the drawers will open and close. The DVDs are not duplicated yet. It will be about 10 more minutes, and all the drawers will open again. Now the DVDs are duplicated. One by one remove a duplicated DVD and use the black permanent marker to write the show number, show name, and TRT (total run time). Place each DVD in its white envelope (except for one that is a quality tester.)
□ While the DVDs are being duplicated, start writing the show number on each DVD envelope.
□ Randomly select one DVD for correct duplication quality. This is very important.
□ First you will need to turn on the Main Power Switch. The power switch is at the bottom right on the electronics tower. Then you can turn on the Pioneer DVD player. Press the button to open the drawer and put the DVD to be tested in the drawer. Close the drawer with the button. Below the Pioneer player is the Videotek machine. Press the #4 button. This will turn on the monitor located on the table top. Press play on the DVD player; in a few seconds you will see the DVD being played on the monitor. If it looks and sounds ok, fast forward turning the “Smart Jog” knob. If the tester looks good then remove the DVD from the player and put it in the white labeled envelope. Place all 9 DVDs including the Master in the Original (brown) envelope. Record the show title, and number in your note pad. You will need to report what was duplicated at the next The Better Part Tuesday meeting.
□ While the DVD is playing you can put another blank DVD in the DVD duplication machine to get the 9th one recorded.
□ When all the duplicating is complete. TURN EVERYTHING OFF.
