Bursary application package

State Library of Queensland is offering travel bursaries of$750 to individuals from regional Queensland public libraries and Indigenous Knowledge Centres to participate in the Innovation in Public Libraries- Regional Professional Development event to be held in Townsville on Thursday 18August 2016.

This Augustthe Innovation in Public Libraries - Regional Professional Developmentevent will be delivered in partnership by the Townsville City Libraries and State Library of Queensland.Registration and participation in the program is free; however, costs associated with staff travel and accommodation is to be borne by Council.

To encourage participation in the event, SLQ is offering small bursaries to assist Council in meeting the costs of attendance.

Council is required to fund any costs beyond the $750 bursary associated with staff travel, accommodation and allowances during the event.

BURSARY GUIDELINES

Eligibility criteria

  1. Individuals are required to attend for the full program of professional development on Thursday 18 August.
  2. Attendance at evening functions is not mandatory but encouraged.
  3. Attendance by new library staff who have not previously attended professional developmentis encouraged, and applicants who have not previously attended training provided by State Library of Queensland will be prioritised.

Payment of bursary

The bursary will be paid to your organisation, and note that the grant is GST exempt.

Costs

Expenditure eligible for the travel bursaries include costs of travel (flights, bus, train, taxi, and fuel reimbursement) and accommodation up to $750 in total.

Travel arrangements

Successful applicants are required to make their own travel arrangements.

Grant acquittal

Successful bursary applicants will be required to submit an acquittal report detailing the expenses covered by the bursary. Photographs and media clippings should be included in the acquittal report where available.Bursary applicants will also be required to provide a 150-word summary of the highlights of the program to be shared through the Public Libraries Connect newsletter after the program.Recipients grant permission for SLQ to use application information and photographs for the purposes of reporting and promotion as appropriate.
