About Western Marble Arch Synagogue
The Synagogue, affectionately called Marble Arch, is officially known as the Western Marble Arch Synagogue and came into existence as a result of the successful merger between the Western Synagogue (founded in 1761) and the Marble Arch Synagogue (founded in 1957). Click here for a fuller history.
We are an independent orthodox community yet an associated synagogue of the United Synagogue.
The Minister is Rabbi Lionel Rosenfeld andRabbi Sam Taylor is our Community Development Rabbi. Rabbi Lord Sacks is a regular preacher.
WMA has a membership of 650.
The Role
As our Deputy Administrator you will be involved in all aspects of the operation and the organisational activities of the Western Marble Arch Synagogue in supporting our Administrator. There will be certain activities that you will be expected to take responsibility for such as the management of our website and our social media presence.
The role also provides direct support to our rabbinical team, the Honorary Officers and Board Committee Chairs.

- A strong command of the English language with a good writing style with the ability to proof read.

- The ability to cope with the unexpected in a calm and collaborative manner, achieving an appropriate outcome
- Fully experienced in in working with IT and software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop and database programmesas well as website management.
- Fully proficient in the use of social media to deliver our marketing and communications strategy
Knowledge
- A good understanding of the British Jewish Community and its establishments

Terms and Conditions
Hours -This is a full time role with a flexible approach to 37.5 hours a week. Sunday morning working will be expected.
Salary -Negotiable based on experience
Holidays -You will be entitled to 20 days holiday a year plus Jewishand statutory holidays.
