What is the purpose of the project?

The purpose of this study is to better understand education and training policy-making and policies for young adults from the perspectives of those who are involved at all the different stages. This includes policy makers, policy implementers, employers, managers and workers on the education and training programmes, trade union representatives and young adultswho are, or have been, on theprogrammes.

Why are you being invited to take part?

You are being asked to take part in the project because you are a policy manager, an education and training programme manager or worker.

What will the project involve?

If you decide to take part, you will be invited to a one-to-one interview which will last no more than one hour. With your permission, the interview will be audio recorded to ensure we don’t miss anything you say.

Taking part in this project is completely voluntary. Should you decide to take part, you are still free to withdraw from it at any time, without giving any reason.

Anonymity and Confidentiality:
All data from the interviews will be treated in the strictest confidence*. You will not be identified in the study or any publication arising from the project and only referred to through a pseudonym or code.

The results of this study:
The results of this study will be added to those of eight other countries as part of a large European project on the education and training of young adults.

Data Storage

The data from this project will be stored electronically or locked away where only the research team have access.

Review of the study:
This study has been reviewed and agreed by the College of Social Sciences Ethics Committee, University of Glasgow.
