INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
Project Title: Exploring personalities of people willing to use mobile digital technology to assist in reducing weight and/or blood sugar.
You are being invited to take part in a research study. Before you decide it is important for you to understand why the research is being done and what it will involve. Please take time to read the following information carefully and discuss it with others if you wish. Ask us if there is anything that is not clear or if you would like more information. Remember that your participation is voluntary and that you can withdraw at any time.
What is the purpose of the research study?
In previous decades, digital technology has been used in patient healthcare. However sometimes, even when it is beneficial it cannot be considered to be easily used by all people. Research suggests that when personality is taken into account, technology can be adapted in order to make it more friendly and thus, more usable.
In this study we plan to collect answers from native British people (men and women) aged from 25 to 60 years old, with type 2 diabetes, who are overweight and that have used or are willing to consider using technology to reduce weight and/or blood sugar.
