A note to students:

The purpose of the handbook is threefold:

(1)To provide guidelines that will prevent students and other patrons from unknowingly committing acts that may deter the process of education;

(2)TO TRANSLATE THE POLICIES OF THE SCHOOL BOARD INTO RULES THE STUDENTS MUST FOLLOW AND THE STAFF MUST REINFORCE; AND

(3)To provide information about the school and its activities for those interested in attending.

Attending school at Deer Creek is a privilege and any privilege is accompanied by a corresponding responsibility. It is your responsibility to set a standard of excellence that will challenge all pupils who follow you. Obviously, the answers to all questions could not be included; therefore, good prudence must be the guide.

We should strive for excellence in our relations with one another and other schools, in our academic pursuits, and in all co-curricular endeavors. With your cooperation and hard work, DeerCreekSchool will continue to be characterized by a tone of excellence in all things.

Your school offers you many opportunities for growth in knowledge, in skill, in appreciation, and in human understanding. Make the most of these opportunities day by day, and you will be rewarded by the deep satisfaction that comes from personal growth.

This handbook is dedicated to the youth of this community with the hope that it will strengthen loyalty, honesty, sportsmanship, school pride, and a genuine spirit of understanding. We realize that this handbook must be constantly ‘up graded’, and we invite your constructive criticism and suggestions.

Sincerely,

F. E. Allegrezza

Headmaster
