International Conference

The Independent Office of Evaluation (IOE) of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is organizing the above-referenced international conference on 6 and 7 June 2017 at IFAD headquarters in Rome, Italy. IFAD is a United Nations specialized agency with a specific mandate of rural poverty reduction through investments in agriculture and rural development.

The conference will discuss the latest innovative approaches to the use of ICTs in development evaluation and will feature best practices that have emerged from the experiences of development organizations and the private sector across the world. The conference sets out to explore what is possible today, and what the future holds.Three main topics will guide the speakers and sessions: data collection, data analysis and data dissemination.

Participants will include senior managers and representatives from the United Nations Evaluation Group and the Evaluation Cooperation Group of the multilateral development banks, plus a wide range of partners that have technical expertise and/or play a pivotal role in the evaluation of development.They include technical staff from bilateral and multilateral development and humanitarian organizations; private sector innovators and service providers; academic institutions and specialized research centres; foundations; and national-level counterparts from development and policy institutions.

A Tech Fair will be held during the ICT4Eval conference. To this end, the conference opens a call for proposals to service providers around the world that are interested in presenting their software tools to the conference attendees.Read more
