Industry-West End Lions Club Scholarship
INDUSTRY-WEST END LIONS CLUB SCHOLARSHIP
Application Guidelines (2016-2017)
The Industry-West End Lions Club Scholarship competition for 2016-2017 will provide
5 scholarships in the amount of $500.00 each Scholarships winners must be 2016/2017 graduate of Bellville ISD who attendedWest End Elementary in Industry, Texas.
The Scholarship is payable directly to the institution and may be used at any college, university, junior or community college, technical or business school.
Scholarship applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Academic performance and promise (a GPA of at least 2.5)
- Service contributions to the Industry-West End Lions Club or the surrounding community
- Character
- Financial need
- Supporting letters and statements
A letter written by the applicant describing his/her community service involvement and educational goals should accompany the scholarship application. In addition, two letters of recommendation (one from a school staff member and one from a community member outside the school setting) should be included. Verification of the Expected Family Contribution (from the FAFSA or Student Aid Report) should be attached.
The completed scholarship application must be returned to the Industry West End Lions Clubby June 1, 2017 The application may be mailed to: Industry West End Lions Club,
P.O. Box 255, Industry, TX 78944. If mailed the application must be received on or before
June 1, 2017
A completed scholarship application will include:
- Completed application form (with student signature)
- High school transcript with class rank and SAT score
- Personal letter from applicant
- Two letters of recommendation (one from a school staff member and one from a community member outside the school setting)
- Verification of the Expected Family Contribution (from the FAFSA or Student Aid Report)
- Documented community service hours
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Scholarships applications will be evaluated by the Lions Club Scholarship Committee and may be submitted to the Bellville High School counseling office or mailed to:Industry West End Lions Club, P.O. Box 255, Industry, TX 78944
INDUSTRY-WEST END LIONS CLUB SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
- Applicants must be community service oriented and provide documentation to support community service hours/service, including service hours with Industry-West End Lions Club.
- Applicants are required to submit a written essay and/or be interviewed by the Lions Club Scholarship Committee.
- Applicants must be currently enrolled full-time at Bellville High School, and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
