Industrial Innovation Offers Unlimited Business Opportunities

With its ultra-efficient manufacturing, first-class R&D talent and closely-knit industry clusters, Taiwan has for many years now played a key role within global supply chains. Responding to the rapid change in the international industrial environment, and to challenges posed by the transformation of Taiwan's economic development model from an "efficiency-driven" model towards an "innovation-driven" model, the Taiwanese government has been working actively to promote the development of the "Innovative Research-based Industries": green energy, the "Asian Silicon Valley" (Internet of Things), bio-medicine, "smart" machinery, and national defense. The government's vision is to link domestic demand with Taiwan's existing strengths, together with international capital, human talent and start-up teams, so that the island can work together with multinational companies to jointly develop the business opportunities presented by emerging industries and new business models.

Over the past few years, Taiwan's impressive innovation and business start-up potential has attracted the attention of international venture capital firms, leading to the emergence of a wide range of new international investment models. At the same time, individual cities within Taiwan have been working to integrate the resources of their industry clusters, universities and research institutes to create innovation eco-systems. These trends haveensured the comprehensive transformation of the overall investment environment in Taiwan.

To demonstrate in the most concrete way possible the bright outlook for industrial innovation in Taiwan, and the attractive investment opportunities that Taiwan offers, the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) is organizing the 2016 Taiwan Business Alliance Conference to be held on October 3rdat the Taipei International Convention Center (TICC). Providing an opportunity for dialog and the sharing of ideas with senior managers of leading multinational corporations, the Taiwan Business Alliance Conference will enable decision-makers from domestic and overseas enterprises, industry experts and venture capital firms to develop a more in-depth understanding of the investment environment in Taiwanand learn about the island’s latest developments in industrial policy, while also providing an ideal platform for identifying potential collaborative partners. This is an opportunity not to be missed!
