LICHFIELD ARCHERS

INDOOR RANGE POINTS OF ETIQUETTE AND SAFETY RULES

Etiquette is simply a matter of politeness to your fellow archers. Although the list could be continually added to, we ask that the following points be observed.

  • An Archer’s equipment must not represent an undue obstacle to other Archers on the shooting line. DO NOT leave your bows on the floor or behind the Waiting Line whilst collecting arrows. Bow Racks are provided, please use them.

The only variation to this is where a Disabled Archer is shooting and is unable, due to disability, to comply with the rule. Also Compound Archers must ensure their bow is sited where it will not cause an obstruction/injury/trip hazard, such as close to the wall.

  • The tables are provided for the set up of your equipment and the shelving to store your Archery Bag whilst you are enjoying the facilities of the club. Please use the shelving so that other Archers are able to utilise the tables for set up.
  • If you wish to join another Archer or Archers already shooting on a target, ask permission first.
  • Do not make any loud noises on the Shooting Line (or behind it) which may distract Archers whilst they are shooting.
  • Turn mobile phones off.
  • If you are not shooting you must remain behind the ‘Waiting Line’. Only those shooting and Coaches (if working) are allowed up to, and on the Shooting Line. When you have finished shooting retire back behind the Waiting Line.
  • No one should approach the Shooting Line or be on the Shooting Line until all Archers have returned from retrieving their arrows.
  • Do not touch another Archer’s equipment without asking permission. This also applies to removing arrows from the target, or from the ground, the Archer may want to make sight adjustments based on where their arrows have landed!
  • It is Club Policy that no more than SIX arrows are shot per end to save wear and tear on the boss.
  • Please wash and dry your used cups and put litter, etc., in the bins provided.

Archery is a great sport for all age groups and we want you to enjoy it. All we ask is for courtesy and consideration to be given to your fellow Archers.

The club abides by the rules and regulations laid down by GNAS t/a ArcheryGB which will ensure that we offer a safe and enjoyable environment for the sport. Thank you.
