40th birthday and 10 year anniversary meant we splashed out. This is a beatiful secluded hotel surrounded by rice paddies and views of the jungle.
Close enough to ubud for shopping, restaurants and activities, but tucked away from the craziness when you want to rest.

We choose to stay at this hotel after reading the many reviews of all the properties in Ubud and we choose well. We had a room with a plung pool that was excellent. Around the pool there are lounge chairs as well as a Niki Beach type of bed which was extremely comfortable and covered

Location - near Starbucks in Ubud centre but hidden in the rice field, ten mins walk to get in there through the little path

We came here for New Years and we're blown away by this place.
The restaurant is tiny, only 10 people all sitting up in a bar like setting overlooking the kitchen, although I believe they are expanding this next year to accommodate for larger numbers.

Nice rural setting overlooking garden beds and lovely sunsets. The food is fresh and the idea of growing organic food to serve in the restaurant is commendable.
We found the food combinations tasty but not outstanding. When you're paying 3 times the price of other vegetarian restaurants/warungs in Ubud you expect something really special.
Moksa is trying hard to create a niche dining experience but if the dishes do not create a feeling of satisfa...

DERAWAN ISLAND
Located in East Kalimantan, the Derawan
Islands are pure tropical paradise. Known as one of the best diving spots in the world, a whole host of unique marine wildlife calls these waters home. Go on a tour to discover the unique and protected species of this area including whales, dolphins, dugongs, coconut crabs, and stingless jellyfish. Turtles are also one of the major endangered species found in relative abundance here.
Try some ‘ikan bakar’ (grilled fish) with the locals and stay in a comfortable wooden guesthouse in the villages. Derawan Dive

PONTIANAK

Nabucco gathers everything you need for the perfect break: incredible location out of the Maratua main island, fantastic bedrooms with direct access to the laguna, very friendly atmosphere among customers and staff. Add to that some of the best diving spots in the area with loads of turtles, mantas and colorful corals and you get the perfect holiday gem.

I cannot find sufficient superlatives for the Lombok Lodge.
The common areas are beautiful, rooms exquisite, staff fantastic and the food a culinary delight that would grace any Michelin restaurant.

We had a wonderful last minute stay
The Oberoi for a couple of nights to celebrate the new year and wow - we have never experienced luxury like this.
The resort is absolutely exquisite and the service is impeccable. The bedroom was enormous and every detail was immaculate.

When you arrive (1 hour drive from the airport) you are treated like a God!
