EQUESTRIAN AREA RULES AND REGULATIONS

I.POLICY
All users are hereby advised that this area is an unsupervised recreational area. All users are advised that the use of this facility is at their own risk. Failure to comply with rules and regulations may result in the revocation of privileges.
- Riders must carry proof of their horse’s current negative Coggins test and provide it upon request of Staff or Park Users.
- Hours are 8:00 am - Dusk unless there is a valid, permitted event in progress.
- Regardless of riding style, riders under 18 years of age: (a) shall wear an approved safety helmet that complies with the standards of Section 773.06(2), Florida Statutes (“Nicole’s Law”) and (b) must be accompanied by an adult.
- While on Indian Trail Improvement District Property and regardless of riding style, safety helmets shall be worn at all times by riders under18 years of age.
- A rider may not deny another rider the use of an arena, unless there is a permitted show in progress.
- No horses will be permitted on any areas designated for pedestrian traffic; picnic pavilions, roped areas, playgrounds, areas chained or fenced off; or other areas designated “off limits”.
- No horses will be lunged in any school or show ring, except where designated.
- Horses are to be washed in the designated wash rack located on the north side of the park across from the main ring.
- All dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet at all times, and must be picked up after and waste disposed of properly.
- Horses must be attended at all times.
- Grazing is prohibited.
- Any horse known to display harmful behavior (like kicking and biting) must wear a red ribbon in its tail to alert other riders.
- Riders are prohibited from riding in a way that will harm themselves, the horse or others. Racing is prohibited. No cantoring outside designated area(s).
- Horses are not to be tied to fences, trees, pavilions, equipment, gates, etc.
- No skateboards, in-line skates, scooters, or roller skates are permitted.
- No glass; all liquids must be kept in shatter proof containers.
- No trailers are to be unhooked on asphalt roadways.
- No overnight tents, fires or overnight camping.
- Horses are not permitted to be turned loose in any arena.
Note: Use of the term ”horse” herein shall include any “equine” as that term is defined in Ch. 773, Florida Statutes. Under Florida law (Ch. 773, F.S.), an equine activity sponsor or equine professional is not liable for an injury to, or death of, a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities.
