CONTENTS:
*1 pair of dice
*6 index cards cut in half.
*11 envelopes, leopard print bags, boxes or mini-purses (whatever you choose to use)
You can make two sets if you have larger groups often!
My prizes are: $5.00 off your order tonight, Free Shipping and grand prize =$50 in FREE jewelry. In the past, instead of $50 FREE I’ve used Botanical, Shine, and Token of Love (I gave them the choice). Whatever you choose, it should have a high perceived value. Remember, being generous to your hostesses and customers will ALWAYS come back to you in the end! You can’t out shovel God!
SETTING UP: (VERY IMPORTANT)
* Grand prize card is in the envelope marked #2 (The odds of rolling 2 is the lowest of all the numbers we’re using)
* “$5 off Tonight” card is in envelope #12, 4, and 5
*”Free Shipping” card is in envelope #3 & 10
*”Bring on the Bling” cards are in envelopes #6, 7, 8, 9, &11
EXPLAIN THE “DICE GAME” AT YOUR SHOWS:
“Before I wrap this show up, and you ladies start shopping, I have one more thing to do. It’s my FAVORITE part of the show! I always like to give you the opportunity to win a Grand Prize! Today the Grand Prize is going to be $50 in FREE jewelry that you get to use today!! No strings attached. Who wants that? (Raise your hand)
Here’s how it works, I have envelopes/bags in my hand. If you chose to participate, you are going to roll the dice and then I will give you the matching envelope. For instance, if you roll a 6, I’ll give you the #6 envelope. Inside each envelope is a card and one of them says GRAND PRIZE. The rest of the envelopes are equally divided up into other prizes. The other prizes are “$5 off your order”, “Free Shipping” and “Bring on the Bling”. Now Bring on the Bling is the BIGGEST prize of all because that means that you are going to have ME over for your own jewelry show and you’re going to get all that free jewelry from Premier.” (References the hostess plan and stacking of the boxes)
I usually go over the prizes twice, just so they all understand. Then I hand the dice to someone who was very enthusiastic during the show and say “Why don’t you start us off.” Your hostess can play too if she would like to. I let them rebook within the next year.
TIP: This is important! Putting the dice in their hand makes them more likely to play, and once someone starts, almost everyone plays! When you hand them the dice say, “Why don’t you start us off!” NEVER SAY, DO YOU WANT TO PLAY, or WHO WANTS TO PLAY.
When you hand the envelope to the first few people, you tell them to “hold on to it, but don’t open it yet…we’re going to build the suspense!”
After everyone has rolled now it’s time for the BRIBE:
“Okay, now that you’ve taken your chances to win the Grand Prize, I have one more offer to make you. Let’s call it what it is ……a BRIBE!” (laugh)
(Lower your voice when you say the next part) “If you choose to invite me over for your own show before you open your envelope, I’m going to give you the grand prize for FREE at your show!...Plus you still get whatever is in your envelope!”
Sounds GREAT right? I know…but this is a game of chance and honor. You all took a chance by rolling, and I’m going to honor any prizes that you win, I just ask that you also honor any Bring on the Bling prizes that you get. So if you get me…I’m coming over.” (smile and laugh)
Then you go around the room and ask each individual again, “Would you like to invite me over for your own jewelry show and be guaranteed to get the grand prize for FREE at your show? Or do you want to take your chances with what’s in your envelope?” After they decide, they open their envelope, and you move onto the next person. (If they invite me over or get Bring on the Bling…I jump up and down and yell…it’s really hard for them to tell you NO when you’re that excited about it. :-)
The reason this works so well: All the guests want to win the FREE item and most are willing to take the chance of getting “book a show/bring on the bling” to get it!! When you tell them another way they can get the grand prize for FREE they are hooked because they know they’ve already taken the chance of getting “Bring on the Bling” by playing the game….they might as well invite you over for a show and be guaranteed to get the FREE item. This will result in people who didn’t have “Bring on the Bling” in their envelope booking a show anyway. And once in a while, the guest will say no to the bribe, and still get “Bring on the Bling” in their envelope and they usually honor it.
It is key to have them set a date before they leave that night!
