INAUGURAL ENGLISH OPENSCRABBLE TOURNAMENT
We are pleased to introduce the
ENGLISH OPEN SCRABBLE TOURNAMENT
Date: Friday8to Sunday 10August2008
Location: Aston Court Hotel, 80-90 Holyhead Road, COVENTRYCV1 3AS
First rate hotel facilities,all rooms are en-suite,superb playing room,and full use of all facilities.There is free parking at the hotel. Nearest local rail station COVENTRY, about 1.5 miles.CoventryAirport is 5 miles away.

Format: One open division of a minimum of 50 players (Swiss paired), plus 2 rated divisions of 19 players (18 games) playing a round robin.All games played to ABSP rules, 25 minutes per person, free challenge. In the rated divisions each player will sit out for 1 round and help with running (mobility problems should not deter you from entering). No-one will be allowed to play above or below rating. All players rated 160 or above MUST play in the Open Division The organisers reserve the right to refuse entries and to change the size of divisions and prize structure depending on entries.
Prizes:OPEN DIVISION: First prize of £2,500, second prize of £600, third prize £450, fourth £300, fifth £150 and 2 ratings prizes of £100 each. Prizes dependent on minimum 50 entries
RATED DIVISIONS: First prize of £1000, second prize of £200, third prize of £150, fourth prize of £100, and a ratings prize of £50in each division.
Depending on entries the total prize fund is expected to be over £7,000
Price includes:Dinner on Friday and Saturday, tea and coffee during breaks, 2 nights accommodation in a twin or double room, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, and ratings levy.All the above are included for non residents exceptaccommodation and breakfast

NOTES: No smoking is allowed in any public areas.
In the case of cancellation, moneymay be refunded if the place can be filled.
