In the Workplace, You Will Be Part of a Busy and Materials Team, Where You Will

Siemens plc, Rail Systems is in a period of growth, and is looking to recruit future Stores Coordinators for its 24-30 month Materials Team Apprenticeship Scheme. As an apprentice, you will receive first-rate training and tuition from Siemens and our Partner College and you will work towards nationally-recognised qualifications including an NVQ Level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations and a Level 2 Certificate in Warehousing and Storage.

In the workplace, you will be part of a busy and Materials Team, where you will:

  • take deliveries and prepare collections
  • build kits for production and issue materials
  • correctly operate powered and non-powered lifting equipment, including fork lift trucks and overhead cranes
  • carry out audits and stock checks

You will also visit other depots, departments, and suppliers nationally, and take part in team-building days, community engagement events, and learner forums.

If you’re looking to take your professional development further there is also the opportunity to progress to a Level 3 in Storage and Warehousing, and train to become a future Stores Team Leader. You will earn a full-time salary and be eligible for yearly pay review.

What are my responsibilities?

  • To develop skills and knowledge in preparation for a role as a Stores Coordinator
  • To fully participate and engage with the apprenticeship scheme, by completing all elements of a structured training plan, including :
  • Nationally-recognised qualifications
  • Plant equipment training
  • Health and safety training
  • A placement rotational plan
  • To report to the Stores Team Leader and take ownership for the completion of all allocated tasks to the best of your ability
  • To work towards personal goals and objectives set at regular learner reviews, and actively seek opportunities for personal and professional development
  • To fully participate and engage with the business’ continuous improvement schemes

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • A keen interest in working in a warehousing, logistics or supply chain environment
  • The ability to work well in a team
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
