American Romeldale -CVM Association, Inc. Bylaws, Section 9.2, Registrar: Shall record and register as purebred Romeldale - CVM Sheep those crossbred animals that meet the Romeldale/CVM breed standards as outlined in Article XI whose bloodlines are a minimum of 75% Romeldale. Hair sheep and primitive breed crosses are expressly not permitted. Any sheep with black face breed background shall be blood tested negative for Spider Gene and shall be codon tested QR or RR before being registered.
How to register Improved sheep: The sheep must be 75% Romeldale, with one parent 100% and ARCA registered and one 50% (with one parent ARCA Registered) or both parents 75%, and registered with ARCA. If you are unsure, please call or email before sending in your registration application to avoid problems. We are not registering 50% animals. The first time an improved sheep is registered (75% animal), they will have an I3 after their ARCA #, designating their status and succeeding generations will be registered with I2, or I1, and finally I. Improved application to be reviewed by ARCA Board of Directors.
