Attendance Policy Reminders

State law mandates that students whose attendance falls below 90% for a semester lose credit for that semester. The law also allows schools to develop a plan that allows students to regain their credits. All students who fall below 90% must meet with their grade level principal to develop a plan for recovery of credit, however a student will not be allowed to make-up unexcused absences.

Important Reminder for the Class of 2016

In order to keep your Parking Permit along with attending Prom and the Senior Picnic you must maintain a 90% attendance rate for the school year. Students who drop below 90% must be in good standing with their grade level principal in making up all hours in order to attend these events and keep their Parking Permit. The grade level principal has discretion in a situation involving extenuating medical circumstances.

Important Reminder for the Class of 2017 and beyond

In order to be eligible for Late Arrival, Early Release, and student parking, students in the Class of 2017 must maintain a 92% attendance rate during their junior year. Any student that falls below that mark will not be allowed to have Late Arrival, Early Release, or buy a parking permit the next year. Students in the Class of 2018 and beyond will be expected to maintain a 94% yearly attendance rate each year to qualify for Early Release, Late Arrival, or parking on campus their junior and senior year.

***Extra Attendance Incentive***

Any junior that maintains a 98% attendance rate will be eligible to have Late Arrival and double Early Release their senior year.

FYI – Over 100 juniors and seniors have been denied their parking permit this year because their attendance was not good enough last year.
