Important note – Your responsibilities

An insurance policy is a contract between two organisations in which both have rights and responsibilities. This section spells out some of your responsibilities (the rest can be found in the full Policy Document).

If you become a customer of Zurich Insurance we will expect you to take reasonable care to protect the following from harm: your members; your staff (if applicable) and volunteers; members of the public that come into contact with your organisation; and any insured buildings and possessions.

We also expect you to tell us everything that could affect our view of your risk. We understand that:

•You have not been refused insurance by any other company

•You have told us everything about your claims history over the past 5 years

•We may be waiting for information from you regarding your safeguarding practices. If you have been asked to complete a safeguarding form, please return it to us as soon as possible. We reserve the right to amend or withdraw this quotation based on the answers you provide.

The disclosure of material facts is a key principle of insurance contracts. This means you have a duty to inform us of any facts which may affect our view of your risk. Examples could include deciding to deliver a new service, or leaving an insured building empty. It is important that you tell us everything that may be relevant to our decision before your insurance starts. And you update us of any significant changes after the policy has started.

This proposal is being issued to you on the basis that these statements are correct. If you are unsure about any of them, or have any questions, then please do email me or call me on 01243 832048.
