Important information for incoming Rebels interested in Athletics

Additional information here including a PDF of the Student Activities Contract, Athletic Candidate Information sheet, HCPS Concussion Policy Agreement and the 4 PAGE VHSL Participation document.ALL seven pages must be completed before you are allowed to participate. There are 12 total Student/Parent/Doctor signatures required. Physicals must be dated AFTER May 1st, 2018 for you to be eligible to participate in conditioning, try out or play. No exceptions.

ATHLETIC PHYSICALS WILL BE GIVEN at FREEMAN ON a DATE TBD. You will go to to sign up for an appointment. They will be held in the small gym and cost $20. Signup available May 1st. Please check dsfathletics website for DIRECT LINK.

Fall Sports: Boys and Girls Cross Country, Competition Cheer, Field Hockey, Football, Golf, Boys and Girls Volleyball

START DATE FOR ALL FALL SPORTS IS JULY 30th –CONTACT COACHES FOR TIME AND LOCATION

Winter Sports: Boys and Girls Basketball, Gymnastics, B&G Swimming, B&G Indoor Track, Wrestling

START DATE WINTER SPORTS: NOVEMBER 5th (You will have practices/games over the winter holiday)

Spring Sports: Baseball, Softball, Boys and Girls LAX, Boys and Girls Soccer, Boys and Girls Tennis, Boys and Girls Outdoor Track

START DATE SPRING SPORTS: FEBRUARY18th-(You may have practices/games over spring break)

All Freshmen trying out for these sports:Field Hockey, Football, Volleyball, Cheerleading, Basketball, Wrestling, Gymnastics, Baseball, Softball, LAX, Soccer, and any track athletes involved in JUMPING EVENTS will be required to take ImPact pre-concussion test with a school official PRIOR TO TRYOUTS (Cheerleaders may take after tryouts but before August). This is a HCPS requirement. The baseline test is good for two years. Will need to repeat when a Junior. YOU TAKE IT ONCE, not once for each sport!

MOST sports have pre-season conditioning in the weight room with additional sport specific activity.
