Summary
This standard is about implementing an agreed strategy towards raising awareness regarding domestic and/or sexual abuse/violence. It includes implementing and monitoring the impact of the agreed plans against the objectives identified for the strategy.It is recognised that abuse can occur without physical violence, yet can be equally damaging to those affected. Throughout this standard, where the term ‘abuse’ is used it is taken to include instances also involving physical violence.

To meet the standard, you
1 / confirm the strategic objectives in raising awareness and understanding of domestic and/or sexual abuse, and the plan agreed towards realising these objectives2 / ensure that all of those involved in implementing the plan are clear regarding their role and responsibilities
3 / inform partner organisations, where relevant, of your proposals and their anticipated impact
4 / monitor implementation against the agreed plan, identifying promptly any variances, and report and address these correctly
5 / monitor implementation to check that all legal, organisational and ethical guidelines are met, addressing any variances promptly and correctly
6 / adjust the plan, or the resources, where relevant and in a way which is justifiable and in line with your organisation’s strategic objectives
7 / inform promptly those involved of any adjustments to the plan
8 / assess the impact of the plan against the objectives, using agreed methods for monitoring and evaluating the outcomes
9 / provide regular feedback upon progress against the plan to the relevant person(s)
10 / record how the plan has been implemented and its impact in a way which will inform future initiatives
11 / present information clearly, concisely and accurately
