IMMERSE YOURSELF, IN SALTWATER
SUBMERGE CULTURAL FESTIVAL
Our inaugural Submerge cultural festival, launched in February, providing an opportunity for hundreds of Saltwater residents to immerse themselves in a showcase of Indian culture.
Manmohini kathak school (pictured), Krusha Shah, Apna Punjab, Ragamrutha Music school, ABCD bollywood dance school, Rithvik Chand, Shiamak Davar, Samarpan Theatrical Arts, S’cape Choreography, Angel Malhotra, and Aadi Malhotra brought a splash of colour to the amphitheatre with a show that lasted late into the evening, with food, kids entertainers and crafts stalls away from the main stage. Local Artist Anindita Banerjee recreated her award winning performance, drawing ephemeral flowers at the Centre entrance.
Our thanks to Victoria University student Ishita Dave, who has been on placement with us for the last few months, and who co-ordinated this amazing event. If you have an idea for another event, we’d love to hear from you. Share the sights and sounds of home with us!

Art
Saltwater Art Studio is evolving! Over the last couple of months the studio has transitioned into an artist-led space, that is, a space in which the artists accessing it are now working together collectively to develop and run it. Along with the established offerings that Saltwater Art Studio has become known for (it’s ceramics, painting, and youth offerings), there will also be a variety of short-term and one-off activities to fill out the schedule, which will change each quarter. For more information visit our new website and be sure to ‘like’ and follow us on Facebook and Instagram for news updates and weekly doses of creative inspiration!
