Imago Dei Middle School has openings for Fall 2017
Teach in a small, nurturing private middle school with small class sizes and firm structure, supportive, respectful administrators, and clearly defined goals. Teach a diverse population of students from economically challenged families seeking the best for their children. Teach at one of only twelve such tuition-free schools in the nation, following a model proven to break cycles of poverty.

Summary of Duties
- Plan rigorous, engaging lessons
- Create a positive learning environment with high expectations
- Provide ongoing assessment and feedback to students and families
- Support and model core values of the school
- Serve as a co-teacher in classes limited to 20 students
- Utilize a variety of teaching modalities to reach all students
- Collaborate with colleagues to facilitate best practices
- Teach full-time, 11 months with some Saturdays (9 am-noon)
- Participate in a yearly trip to Prescott for a camp experience
- Communicate with parents regularly
Imago Dei is a private, tuition-free, Episcopal school for children of low-income families, located in vibrant downtown Tucson. We are accredited by the Southwest Association of Episcopal Schools and have a strong working relationship with community partners, including UA, Sonoran Glass School, Playformance, Santa Theresa Tileworks and Tucson Museum of Art. In addition to core academics, students participate in unique enrichment classes that offer a wide variety of exciting opportunities and enlarge their worlds.
We are committed to providing students with what they need to succeed, including tutoring, mentoring, and help in picking a high school, then we track and mentor all our students through high school and beyond. Classes are limited to 20 students, with a lead and co-teacher and the extended school day, week and year allows time to give students individual attention.Founded in 2005, Imago Dei will be celebrating its tenth year.
Requirements for teaching positions:
- Arizona State Certification (or presently working towards certification)
- Teaching experience in a middle school setting
- AZ Fingerprint card
- Knowledge of Common Core Standards
