Retail Sales Associate- Part-time
The Retail Sales Associate implements the day-to-day operations of the GSSWT Council Shop including selling merchandise and providing high quality customer service to our customers (volunteers, parents, girls, community members and staff.)
Essential Responsibilities:
- Uses Point of Sales system in performing tasks such as cash register sales, refunds, and other customer related functions
- Processes phone, mail, and web orders promptly and professionally
- Ensures timely receiving of incoming orders, pricing of inventory, and stocking shelves and displays
- Maintains Retail Shop in an attractive, organized and functional manner by keeping the sales floor stocked and displays fresh and appealing, and monitors/cleans stock room, work stations and sales counter
- Gains knowledge and understanding of departmental operations in order to accurately respond to volunteer questions and requests
- Assists and provides support Camp Trading Post events
- Participates in the annual inventory process of the shop and stock room
- Provides clarification and support to customers for the Girl Scout Program and corresponding merchandise/awards
- Interacts with staff, volunteers, and the general public while performing various tasks
- Ability to problem solve & resolve customer disputes and complaints to ensure timely resolution and customer satisfaction
- Perform other duties as required/assigned
- Willingness to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
Role Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ years of retail experience and/or processing sales orders
- 1+ years of handling cash transactions
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently with limited direction at all times
- Be highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software and Point of Sale Technology
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills ability to work effectively under pressure and with individuals of diverse backgrounds
- Must have demonstrated skills in organization, attention to detail
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends
- Knowledge and acceptance of beliefs and principles of the Girl Scout movement; willing to register as a member of Girl Scouts of the USA
Work Hours:
GSSWT hours of operation are extended and non-traditional, and may vary based on location and/or program requirements.Employees are asked to work the schedule that is best suited to the achievement of program requirements.
