Imaginative Story: Due 12/2/16!

You will be writing an original story. You may choose to write EITHER a Mythology, Fable, Tall Tale, or Legend.

  • Your Rough Draft must t least 1 ½ pages long in your SSW notebook.
  1. You must include a fully developed plot. This means that your reader should know:
  2. Detailed setting
  3. What the major problem or conflict is.
  4. How the conflict is resolved.
  5. Be an interesting and entertaining story.
  1. Your story should contain elements of good writing:
  2. Interesting introduction and conclusion.
  3. Imagery (Show, Don’t Tell!)
  4. Stays in one tense (preferably past tense)
  5. Has Exciting Verbs (not just…He walked to the store.)(He sprinted to the store.)
  6. Shows correct usage of spelling, grammar, and capitalization
  7. Does not have fragments or run on sentences.
  8. Properly Punctuated Dialogue
  9. Final copy formatting: 12” font, 1” margins, complete heading in the upper right hand corner, and a centered title that is bold and underlined
