I'm Getting the Eblast out Early, Since There's So Much Going On

6/13/2017

I'm getting the eblast out early, since there's so much going on.

- Graduation Information: The busses will be coming in to drop off students on the morning of the 14th, but they will not be picking up. ALL STUDENTS WILL BE PICKED UP BY CAR THAT DAY, so please make arrangements. Our graduation is honoring our 6th grade class for finishing elementary school, and our 8th grade class for finishing their time here at Spa. The ceremony will be in the sanctuary from 9:30-10:45ish. It will be a tightly packed crowd, so please be willing to smoosh and put little siblings on laps. Please give preferential seating to the families of the graduates. All classes will be making a presentation and everyone is asked to wear concert attire (meaning girls wearing a nice dress and boys wearing khakis and a polo/button down shirt). Following the ceremony the students will return to their classrooms, waiting for parents to come and pick them up. Again, please note that there is no bus dismissal on the 14th. All K-4th graders will be picked up in their own classroom at 10:45. 5th and 7th graders will go down to the kitchen to help with the graduation reception, and the 6th and 8th graders and their families will enjoy a reception in the lunchroom. All 5-8th graders should expect to be done by noon. Please contact the office if you have ANY questions.

- Report Cards go home tomorrow.

- Summer Office Hours: Laurie or I will be in the office M-Th. from 9-12, although we encourage you to call before showing up, just in case. Please be aware that the floors are being cleaned the last week of June, and so the office may be unoccupied for that time.

- Sometime during the month of July you can expect to receive your summer packet. This will include all sorts of helpful information for next year, like a class supply list, calendar, sign-up sheets for volunteering, and an assortment of other items.

- I highly recommend your children get to enjoy a summer camp this summer. There are so many different choices within our area! Just as an FYI, Camp Pattersonville is having an Open House on June 23rd, from 4:30-8. It's a come and go as you please event, with tours, a craft, dinner (at around 5:30), and s'mores. Contact Michele Gerlach or Mandy Kergel for more information.

- Hope Church is having Camp Hope again this summer, Aug. 7-11. The theme is Books in the Barnyard: Cultivating a Love of Reading. Please see Melanie Combs for more information

As usual, I'm sure there are things that were forgotten, so please excuse any additional emails that Laurie or I send out. I am in a bit of denial that this is the last full day of school! I'm going to miss you all very much and look forward to hearing about all of your summer adventures! If your children are ever bored, please remind them that Mrs. Kergel LOVES pictures and letters

Dear LORD,

Please protect our families this summer. Give them fantastic times with one another, cultivating memories that will last. I pray for our parents, that they would be given your energy, creativity, and wisdom this summer as they spend a lot of time with their children. I pray for those who are going on vacations, those going to summer camp, and for those who are enjoying time at home, cause this time to be blessed and full of joy.

We love and praise you for the gift of another summer.

In Jesus' Name,

Amen
