iKeepBookmarks.com allows you to upload, and keep, your bookmarks on the web for free. You can access them at any time, from any computer... anywhere!

  • Ever had to start your favorites, or bookmarks, over when you bought a new computer?

  • Do you want an easy to maintain set of links?
  • Would you like to give your students an easy way to access their favorite sites?

NOTE:

While in edit mode you will see edit icons to the left of your folders.

  • The pencil icon allows you to edit the folder or link.
  • The x icon allows you to delete the folder or link.
  • The arrow icon allows you to move the folder or link.

TO GET STARTED:

Go to

Create a new account

An email will be sent to you documenting your user name and password. Print this and keep it for your records.

Go to bottom of page and click Begin Using Your Account.

On the yellow line to the right of your name, click add

Watch the path at the top of the page to be able to organize folders.

Type in the name of your first folder. You may put a description and you may choose icons for the folder.

Click finish.

To add subfolders under the main folder:

  • Click on the main folder
  • Click on add at the end of the yellow bar beside your main folder.
  • Look at your path at the top. It tells you where you are about to create a folder.
  • Beside name type in the folder name.
  • You may type a description and you may choose an icon for this folder.
  • Click Finish.
  • Now click on the sub folder. You are now getting ready to add links under this folder.
  • Pay attention to the path at the top of the page so you know exactly where you are placing your links.
  • Click on the add box to the right on the green line. The green line will be under the yellow line.
  • Enter a title for your link.
  • Enter the URL for your link. You may copy and paste here. You may put a description and icon for this link.
  • Click Finish.
  • To view what your students will see:
  • Click on logout at the top right of the screen.
  • Close your browser.
  • Go back into your browser and go to user name.
  • Click on the yellow folder icon to the left or your main folder. You will see how it opens up to show any subfolders under the main folder. Click on the yellow icon beside the subfolder. The student will now see the links that you created.

Your students now have a guided Internet search related to your curriculum objectives. The students, as well as you and your colleagues, will have access to these links from any computer connected to the Internet.

EXAMPLE FOR USE:

Teachers in a department or team could create links for each course taught and share these links. “Across the curriculum” activities could be easily creating by utilizing these shared links.
