Tips for family members and spectators for ensuring you do not miss a thing!

If you would like to see the parade, please plan to arrive early enough to get parking and a place along the parade route! Once you have set up your chairs or blankets to reserve your spot, head over to the bands staging place (side street—somewhere on Ranier Blvd.) Just follow your ears! Please note that some Interlake families like to follow the band through the parade.

As all the participating bands begin to arrive, something takes place that you definitely want to witness! It’s a spirited and friendly competition called The Battle of the Bandsand it happens in this waiting area. Theband members and cheerleaders from different schools in that area go back and forth playing songs and/or the drumline and cheerleaders do their stuff! This is a fun tradition that isn’t on the schedule but has rather become a favorite and highly anticipatedway for the participating schools to celebrate as they wait for the parade to begin. It’s wonderful to have family members and friends there to witness this and cheer on all the kids! The Battle of the Bands goes on until the bands eventually starts toslowly move forward until it is their turn to join the parade.

Parade Route: Order of parade should be posted in parade flyer. The parade starts by going a short way on Front St. and then turns left onto Gillman Blvd. It goes down Gillman to around 12th Ave (there's a shopping center). Once the band members reach the end of the parade, they go straight to the buses to return to the school.
