IHEARTRADIO AUSTRALIA REVEALS

ITS MOST POPULARSONGS OF 2016

AND NEW HOST FOR THE IHEARTRADIO COUNTDOWN IN 2017

iHeartRadio Australia today announced the Top 10 songsits customers ‘thumbed-up’most in 2016. Drake was number one with his single One Dance and he was one of three artists, along with Shawn Mendes and Ariana Grande, to have two singles in the Top 10.

It has been another great year for iHeartRadio Australia with more than 50 new stations added to the platform, moreiHeartRadio LIVE events than ever, and more than 18 pop-up stations launched across the year including the award winning ELF Radio.

iHeartRadio Australia is set for an even bigger year in 2017 with plans to launch a new version of the iHeartRadio Australia app powered by Optus, with new features that will change the way audiences engage with live radio.

The new year will also see a new host for the iHeartRadio Countdown, with Jack Laurence taking over the airwaves. Jack will be counting down the 20 hottest iHeartRadio tracks of the week from 4-6pm every Sunday on the KIIS network or on demand on the iHeartRadio app. Jack will also be thenew anchor for Hughesy & Kate’s drive show on the national KIIS network from January 2017.

In 2016 iHeartRadio Australia added more than 50 new live radio stations to the platform from theABC, SBS, ACE radio and Macquarie Networks, along with dozens of specialised genre stations like iHeartCountry Australia. In June, iHeartRadio Australia also partnered with children’s charity Red Nose Day and created a Red Nose Disco station, which was streamed to almost 2,000 pre-schools and primary schools all around the country as the soundtrack to their fundraiser disco events.

The monthly usage of the iHeartRadio Australia platform is up 37% year-on-year, theappdownload rate is increasing month-on-month and the mobile app version clocked up more than 5,000,000 sessionslast month.

iHeartRadio Australia also launched its biggest iHeartRadio LIVE powered by Optus series in its history, bringing audiences closer than ever before to the music they love by delivering unrivalled live events, exclusive artists experiences and content. In partnership with Optus and record labels, the 2016 iHeartRadio LIVE series has seen more than 10 performances from artists including Adam Lambert, Tove Lo, Shawn Mendes, Mike Posner and DNCE. In partnership with Network TEN,iHeartRadio LIVE events can also be seen exclusively on ELEVEN’s The Loop, Australia’s number one national television music show.
