Executive Committee Meeting Minutes

·  Chair's Report - Leann Kostek - Attachment A

Have received the Northcon distribution check from the Portland Section.

Memberships are up in all sections. There are 330,000 members worldwide. The Seattle Section has 4,038 members. There was incredible response to the on line renewal process.

There will be one more Datalink in June.

The proposed change in the IEEE logo is currently on hold.

·  Vice Chair's Report - Franklin Lu - Attachment B

Attended the Region 6 OPCOM meeting held February 27th. Meeting report summarized in above attachment.

The Spring Banquet is scheduled for Friday May 14th at Chateau Ste. Michelle. Ticket price of $35 includes a 4 course meal and tour. After discussion, the attending EXCOM members selected chicken as the main entrée . A vegetarian dish will also be served. Joe Decuir has volunteered to look at getting a jazz band for the evening entertainment.

The secretary annual report was completed and sent to the national office with 54 meeting reports.

·  Treasurer's Report – LeAnn Kostek for John Nierenberg – Attachment D

Expect to receive funds from the DASC conference soon.

·  Northcon – Rob Tiplin

Northcon was successful and were able to bring in a surplus of $112,000. This is divided among the Seattle, Alaska, Spokane, Richland and Portland Sections.

Standing Committee Report - Al Moser

The annual student pizza feed is scheduled for April 20th.

Student Chapters – Leann Kostek

UW student chapter is up and running.

Chapter Reports

·  Circuits and Systems – Erik Godo

Good attendance at February’s meeting – 25 attendees

·  Communications - Joe Decuir

Have a speaker scheduled for the March meeting

·  Electromagnetic Compatibility - Ghery Pettit – Attachment E

Looking for volunteers to assist during the EMC’s Symposium this summer. They are expecting 2,500 attendees.

·  Industrial Applications – Duane Carlson

50 students are attending the color book series. They will present a brand new yellow book. No meeting is scheduled for March. The next meeting is in April.

Attempting to contact senior members and fellows who have not renewed their membership. Will update address and phone numbers and provide a brief summary of their status.
