Desired qualifications/training: / Potential Workforce Development: Apprenticeships, Qualification training, shadowing etc.

What are the skills a competent worker needs to undertake this role? /
  1. Identify the skills required by a competent person in this post.
  2. To enable progression to the next level identify the developing skills required.
  3. Identify what type of workforce development is required through the My Plan /Supervision process. Consider the use of Apprenticeships.
  4. Competent skills:
Identify an appropriate number of posts to offer as an Apprenticeship scheme either for existing Post A staff or new recruits.
  1. Developing Skills:
Identify an appropriate number of posts to offer an Apprenticeship to enable them to progress to Post B.
  1. Decide whether opportunities for Apprenticeships will be offered annually or bi-annually.
  2. Determine whether additional resources are required to cover the 20% training time or whether it can be covered from within. If additional resources are required cost this out.

  1. Identify an appropriate number of existing staff in Post B to offer an Apprenticeship to progress to Post C (if appropriate).
  2. Identify an appropriate Apprenticeship scheme for staff in Post B.
  3. Determine how many will be offered Apprenticeships
  4. Decide whether opportunities for Apprenticeships will be offered annually or bi-annually.
  5. Determine whether additional resources are required to cover the 20% training time or whether it can be covered from within. If additional resources are required cost this out.
