Ideas Competition for Bruce Lee's Residence

Summary

Background

The property located at No. 41 Cumberland Road, Kowloon Tong is the former residence of international film star Mr Bruce Lee. The property owner, Mr Yu Pang-lin, has agreed to donate the property to the Government. A consensus has been reached to restore and preserve the original appearance of Mr Bruce Lee's residence, which will be open for visit by the locals and tourists. The restored residence is to commemorate Mr Bruce Lee's contributions to the film industry and martial arts, and is expected to attract visitors from all over the world to pay tribute to one of the greatest legends of our time.

Purpose of Competition

To invite creative ideas for restoring the late Mr Bruce Lee's former residence and optimising the use of space of the property; and

To engage the community in the restoration project, with a view to converting the residence to a tourism attraction in memory of Mr Bruce Lee's contribution to the development of martial arts and the film industry.

Professional Group

The Professional Group Competition is open to all full or fellow members of the professional institutes of architects, planners, surveyors, engineers, interior designers andlandscape architects in Hong Kong, the Mainland and overseas.

Open Group

The Open Group Competition is open to the general public. However, professionals participating in the Professional Group Competition are not allowed to enter or participate in the preparation of Entries for the Open Group Competition.
