CURRENT BUSINESS

  1. Executive Director: We need to complete more research and collect information.
  2. Eric Newell and Josh Oakes are going to research management companies to see what they offer and costs.
  3. There is the Association of Management Companies which may have a listing of companies.
  4. See if we can transition into an ED position, for example, hire a company to help out with a few items, i.e. grow membership, conference planning, membership organization so that the Board can focus on other topics. Then over time, the ED would take on more duties.
  1. Quarterly Newsletter
  2. Will be sent out the end of May
  3. Topics in newsletter:Proposals for Speakers, Awards, News from Districts, Events from Districts, Election/Recruitment Information, AIC Conference
  1. Training/Networking Opportunities: General discussion on what are training opportunities and needs for our membership.
  2. February 2015 Playground Safety Course/Exam in Boise (possibly Powerhouse Event Center)
  3. Sarah will send out a survey monkey to the membsership about certification opportunities they would like to see offered.
  1. Brown Bag Lunches
  2. Dave Fair will send out an email to District Reps to start brainstorming and start planning some lunches in districts.
  3. As a organization we need to start thinking away from Municipal frame of mind and think about untapped areas where we can recruit new membership. We have tapped out a lot of our municipal opportunites and in order to grow, we need to think outside the box.
  1. Board and Officer Recruitment
  2. Elections: For this year: Student, Vice President, Treasurer, Tourism, District Rep 2, District Rep 4, District Rep 6
  3. If you know of anyone who is interested in running for any of these positions, please have them contact Dave Fair.
  4. Goal for 2014 is reach 200 total members, that equates to 10 members/district.
  1. Legislative Issues: Continued discussion on how to promote our association and our profession to our elected officials, both locally and statewide.

NEW BUSINESS

  1. AIC Conference: June 18-20 in Boise, Boise Centre. Think about issues/topics that we want to have presented. There will be mayors and council members present.
