JULY 2017

Federation News:

President’s Message

Roy Viken

The recent Idaho State Square Dance Festival can only be described as a huge success. Lots of dancers and wonderful enthusiasm. It was so neat to see square dancing in the street again with several squares and dozens of onlookers. Wallace is such an interesting and unique place.

Don and Doris McPeak and Jon Bair must be congratulated for their work in organizing the first festival at the “Center of the Universe”. Louis Kins and Jon had some long hours hanging the sound diffusion curtain in the main hall which was much needed and appreciated. And wasn’t that dance hall at the Elks Club a perfect place to dance? Thanks to all the energetic leaders and dancers in Area I for organizing a fine dance and fun weekend.

Caller and cuer Scot and Erin Byars performed their usual high quality leadership, and it was really nice to have a youth caller Than Peake, and a youth cuer Theresa Ray on hand to get a new generation of dancers involved. To all participating Idaho callers and cuers, we sincerely thank you as well for your generous contribution of time and energy to assure the weekend was a success.

Idaho dancers salute all of you for a Festival well done.

Additional note from Lynne: Please send information about your club’s upcoming regular and special events to Lynne Krogh, .
