1. SGT PAUL VALIQUETTE, CD, WILL BE RETIRING ON 05 JAN 2015, AFTER MORE THAN 19 PLUS YEARS OF SERVICE IN THE CAF AND IN PARTICULAR, THE COMMUNICATIONS AND ELECTRONICS BRANCH.

2. SGT VALIQUETTE JOINED THE CAF IN 1995. AFTER COMPLETION OF BASIC TRG AND QL3 RAD OP HE WAS POSTED TO 1 CDHSR, 2 EW SQN (21 EW REGT), CFSCE, IPSC KINGSTON AND MACS / WTISS TRENTON. HE PARTICIPATED IN OP ASSISTANCE, OP ASSURANCE, OP ABACUS, OP DANACA, OP APOLLO / OP ATHENA, AND OP ARCHER. SGT VALIQUETTE WAS ONE OF THE FIRST SIG OP’S TO BE QUALIFIED AND DEPLOYED AS AN COUNTER RADIO CONTROL IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVICE (C-RCIED) OPERATOR WITHIN THE IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVICE DISPOSAL TEAM IN KANDAHAR, AFGHANISTAN IN 2005. UPON HIS RETURN, SGT VALIQUETTE WAS POSTED TO CFSCE TO INSTRUCT BOTH THE C-RCIED AND THE C-RCIED SUPPORT TO IEDD CRSE.

3. PAUL AND HIS SPOUSE DANIELLE WILL REMAIN IN THE TRENTON AREA. IN PREPARATION FOR HIS SECOND CAREER PAUL WILL EITHER BECOME A PUBLIC SERVICE EMPLOYEE OR ATTEND LOYALIST COLLEGE TO BECOME A SOCIAL SERVICE WORKER.

4. A DWD LUNCHEON WILL BE HELD IN PAUL’S HONOUR FOR FAMILY AND COLLEAGUES AT BOSTON PIZZA ON THE 05 DECEMBER 2014 IN TRENTON, ONTARIO. THOSE WISHING TO ATTEND ARE REQUESTED TO CONTACT SGT GERALD WALTERS.
