Topic:Gas Laws: Boyle’s Law
OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the students shall be able:
Learning :
- Demonstrate understanding of the behavior of gases.
- Derive from given data the relationship between volume and pressure of a confined gas at constant temperature.
- Solve problems involving Boyle’s Law
- Apply the law in explaining daily occurrences; involved in some technologies.
ICT :
- Process information from more than one source to retell what has been discovered.
- Draw conclusions from organized information
- Solve problems using numerical operations and such tools as calculators and spreadsheets
- Make connections among related organized data, and assemble various pieces into a unified message
Duration: 4-session (288 minutes )

- Pick the words for pressure, and the other student works on for volume.
- Rearrange the words or change the work of the first pair.
- Define pressure, and volume.
( Student A-to sip juice using 5 drinking straws, while student B-to sip juice using 1 drinking straw)
- Write their predictions on the board.
- Observe as students A and B perform their task.
- Give their reactions.
- Explain what they observe
- Perform the experiment and gather data.
- Activity A: (Day 1) Finding Pressure-Volume Relationship
- Activity B: (Day 2)
4. ActivityC:(Day 3) Making calculations using Boyle’s Law
- Create table, graph
- Present your output.
- Solve problems
In”
- Look or search for clipart, animations, or technology where Boyle’s Law concept comes in.
- ..Present output via LAN (Local Area Network)
Why is volume reduced to one half once pressure is doubled?
