ICBA Bancard Announces V.me by Visa Service to Members

Washington, D.C. (Nov. 13, 2012)–A new agreement between ICBA Bancard, the payment-services subsidiary of the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA), and Visa Inc. (NYSE: V) allows ICBA Bancard clients to streamline the online payments process through Visa’s new digital wallet service, V.me by Visa.

Once online banking customers enroll their existing Visa and other payment card accounts, they will be able to pay online by simply entering a user name and password, forgoing standard information required today such as an account number and bill to and ship to information at checkout. As V.me acceptance continues to gain momentum at a growing number of eCommerce merchants, Visa will work closely with ICBA Bancard and its members to more broadly deliver the service to its online banking customers.

Through ICBA Bancard member branding and Visa-backing, account holders can shop with comfort knowing they’re protected by layers of security within Visa’s industry-leading network. Once logged into V.me, all that’s required to make a purchase is a simple click of a mouse, touch on a mobile browser, or in the future, a wave at the physical point-of-sale.
