IAGLMA Website Links Protocol

Statement

Any organization linked with the IAGLMA Web Site should have a mission, philosophy, and principles that are in accordance with that of the International Association of Gay and Lesbian Martial Artists.

IAGLMA desires to link with sites that create positive alliances that assist visibility and enhance working relationships and should be primarily NGO/non profit organizations.

The sites linked to the IAGLMA Web Site should promote a positive empowering image and message for international GLBT community.

Those whom we link with should advance and support the principles and philosophy contained in the IAGLMA Mission Statement.

IAGLMA does not wish direct or indirect links with the following, but not limited to

  • Porn sites, including soft porn.
  • Commercial sites, except with a clearly defined or contractual relationship.
  • Sites that would present a real or apparent conflict of interest.
  • Sites that have offensive images or messages that undermine the mission and principles of IAGLMA.
  • Organizations that are linked to any of the prohibited sites.
  • Web Sites of individuals.
  • Web Sites of Individual Martial Arts Schools with the exception of IAGLMA member schools. IAGLMA should have a disclaimer stating that membership and linkage does not indicate approval of school, methods or curriculum. Caveat emptor statement.

Procedure to link:

  • Request by IAGLMA or other organization.
  • Review of proposed site and request by IAGLMA board member.
  • If the Links Protocol is satisfied, the IAGLMA board member will create the link. New links will be added to the agenda as recommended links for the next to IAGLMA Board meeting for link approval.
  • The other organization will be informed in writing by the IAGLMA board member whether their site has been linked. Where the IAGLMA board has declined to link to a site the other organization will be informed in writing of the reason.

Link validation and link removal procedure:

  • All websites linked through the IAGLMA website will be reviewed to ensure that they continue to satisfy the Links Protocol. This review will be carried out by an IAGLMA board member at least once a year.
  • If it is found that the linked website no longer satisfies the Links Protocol the link will be removed. The decision to remove the link will be reviewed at the next IAGLMA board meeting.
  • When the IAGLMA board approve of the decision to remove a link, the other organization will be informed in writing by the IAGLMA board member of the reason with reference to the Links Protocol.
