This is an introduction to the student clinic and explains a few frequently asked questions. Please read the following information carefully.

What can I expect at my Naturopathic Nutrition Consultation?

Each time you visit the student clinic, you will be assigned a student mentor who will be responsible for looking after you and will be your point of contact for that appointment. On arrival, your mentor will assist you in completing a few basic forms regarding your visit.

A clinic supervisor (Year 1 Clinic) will then take your case history. You will be asked various questions about your health and lifestyle. With your permission, the clinic supervisor may look at your tongue, nails and iris (eyes) and may take your blood pressure. No internal examinations are performed at the student clinic and no disease state diagnoses are made. There will be silent student observers in the year 1 observation clinic – you will be seen in a clinic room which has a non-recorded live feed to the classroom. Alternatively you may be seen in the classroom with silent observers.

There will be a short break (approx. 30 minutes) when you will be excused from the room. The supervisor and students will discuss the case and formulate your nutrition plan. You will then be asked to return to the clinic room where you will be given your plan.

What do I need to bring?

  • A list of all pharmaceutical medicines and supplements you are currently taking
  • Any recent medical test results if available
  • Your completed Diet Diary

How much will it cost?

The consultation fee is £25 and £15 for a follow-up. In addition, you may be recommended to purchase some supplements. Only cash and cheque are accepted. We do not have the facilities to process credit or debit cards.

Safety

Our supervisors are fully trained, experienced therapists who will oversee and maintain responsibility for your consultation and nutrition plan. Every care is taken to provide you with a high level of service. We cannot see patients who are intoxicated or under the influence of recreational drugs.
