Vice President – Sam Henry

His major is international business and he has no idea what he is going to do with that in the future. He loves to travel and spent the last semester in Sydney, Australia and strongly believes in living life to the fullest. He is from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Sam is also or on his third year of college.

National Communications Coordinator – Emily McBride

Her major is forensic science but it may change by the end of the semester, she’s not really sure. She is from Denver, CO and this is also her third year in college, at UCCS. She has been a part of RHA for the past three years and has held the positions of Executive Administrator and National Communications Coordinator.

Executive Administrator – Tally Brown

Her major is mechanical engineering. She is from Lakewood, CO and this is only her second year in college, at UCCS. She got involved in RHA last year and now holds the Executive Administrator position.

ii. What we do.

President – Trey Quiller

As the President, Trey oversees all the meetings and keeps order. He coordinates all co-sponsored programs. He prepares the agenda and moderates all decisions made by the RHAEB (Resident Hall Association Executive Board). Lastly, he is in charge of the advocacy committee. This provides the residents with a place to share their ideas about campus, like what they would like to see changed to better their living on campus. Thanks to this committee we have the shuttle that takes students from one end of campus to the other.

Vice President – Sam Henry

As the Vice President, Sam is in charge of the programming and advertising committee. This committee makes programs possible for the residents on campus. Also, he calls role at all meetings and hands out voting placards. He must also be able to take over for the President if Trey should be absent for any reason.

National Communications Chair – Emily McBride

As the NCC, Emily is responsible for communicating with the Inter Mountain Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (IACURH) and the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH). She also affiliates UCCS with NACURH every September and is responsible for completing the duties in the current NCC handbook. She supervises the Conference Committee and keeps the RHA website up to date.

Executive Administrator – Tally Brown

As the Executive Administrator, Tally takes minutes at all of the RHALA meetings (Mondays’ Meetings) and email copies to all the members of RHA. She supervises the fundraising committee; this committee is to raise money so RHA is able to take delegates to the Regional and National conferences. She also must keep track of RHA’s budget and proposal forms and provide a report once a month.

iii. The all-powerful Raffe!

Raffe was our mascot last year. We passed him around to members that we saw as overachievers or someone who had done something that caught our eye. This year, through our icebreaker, you all decided to name our new mascot, still a giraffe, “Turtleneck.” We will explain how the whole passing thing works next meeting (Monday, Sept. 13th).

iv. What do you want to see happen?

Every year we put on many different programs each semester. This semester for example we are putting on Mr. UCCS, Empty Bowl Dinner, Midterm Mind spas, Broomball, and Casino Night. Sam asked if anyone had any other ideas of programs that they would like to see on campus this semester. Some of the ideas were water gun fighting, hall jousting, a nerf gun war, Halloween dance, life size chess, disco, blow up rat ball, trampoline, and secret Santa.

v. Casino Night

Casino Night is September 15th at 7pm in the Upper Lodge. We are going need help setting up and we are also going to need some volunteers that would like to deal for like an hour segment. There will be a sign up sheet at the next meeting. If you do not know how to deal we will teach you before casino night.
